Some of you might encounter difficulties passing through the initial cookie wall when accessing WeTransfer. This article provides steps to help you overcome these issues and proceed with your transfers. If the steps below don’t resolve the issue, you can always reach out to our support team for further assistance.
👉 Disable ad-blockers and other extensions
Ad-blockers or other browser extensions can interfere with the cookie wall, causing issues such as:
- The download box being faded out and not clickable
- The blue download button appearing gray and inactive
- The message "You’re almost there" requesting agreement to the T&Cs but appearing gray and unresponsive
To resolve this:
- Disable any ad-blockers and refresh the page.
- Temporarily disable other browser extensions, such as anti-virus or security plugins, which might block pop-ups or restrict site behavior.
👉 Adjust your browser’s zoom level
Sometimes, buttons or interactive elements might not appear due to zoom settings. If you notice:
- Buttons at the bottom of the page are cut off,
- You cannot see or click the cookie pop-up,
Try this:
- Zoom out your page to see all the buttons clearly.

👉 Try a different browser or incognito mode
If disabling extensions doesn’t help:
- Switch to a different browser to see if the problem continues.
- Use your browser’s incognito or private mode, which disables most extensions by default. This can help if the upload selection box is gray or the site won’t let you click the transfer button to proceed
👉 Check network restrictions
Corporate networks or company computers might block necessary elements of the cookie wall. If you cannot get past the welcome screen and the entire screen appears inactive or stuck, consult your IT department to ensure WeTransfer is accessible on your network.
👉 Accept cookies manually
If the cookie pop-up doesn’t appear, even after disabling blockers, it may be necessary to manually accept cookies. Currently, this requires intervention. Please follow the steps in the next section to contact support.
