Starting November 2024, non-logged in users will be asked to enter a verification code upon sending files. This is what used to happen for email transfers and that will now be applied to link transfers as well. From now on, this is what will happen depending on whether you already have a WeTransfer account:
- If you don’t have a WeTransfer account, a Free account will be created after verifying the address.
- If you already have a verified WeTransfer account (an account with a verified email address), you’ll be logged into your account after entering the verification code.
Having all transfers linked to a verified account will ensure a higher level of security to your transfers. Your security and data protection is one of our utmost priorities!

What should I do to send a transfer from now on, if I'm not logged in?
Here you can find all the steps you’ll be required to follow to successfully send your files when you’re not logged into an existing account.
- Enter your email address and upload your files.
- You’ll be asked to verify your email address by having a verification code sent to the email address you entered.
- Check your inbox: You should find an email from WeTransfer with a verification code.
- Go back to WeTransfer and paste the verification code.
- Click on Verify and Send.
- If you don’t have a WeTransfer account, a Free account will be created after verifying the address.
- If you already have a WeTransfer account linked to the email address you entered, you’ll be logged into your account.
- If you chose the email transfer option, your transfer will be sent to your recipient(s). If you chose the link transfer option, you’ll get your transfer link.
