We understand that sometimes your needs may change, and you might want to adjust your subscription plan. Below, we’ll guide you through the possibilities and steps for upgrading, downgrading, or switching between billing cycles.
Upgrading Your Plan
If you want to move to a higher-tier plan, this can be done quickly and easily:
-
Log into your paid account on the WeTransfer website
-
Click on your Workspace name > Account settings > Plan and payment
-
Tap to Manage plan > Upgrade
- Confirm your selection and complete any payment adjustments if needed.
Once you’ve completed these steps, the new subscription will be activated immediately, and you'll be credited the difference in price.
Downgrading your subscription
You can easily downgrade your plan by following these steps:
- Log into your paid account on the WeTransfer website and navigate to the pricing page
- Click on the Switch plan button if you wish to downgrade to a lower-tier plan
- Review the benefits you will lose with the downgrade and confirm the change—the newly selected plan will be activated automatically once your current billing cycle ends
Please note that the current downgrade option is available when switching from Ultimate to Starter. If you wish to downgrade your Teams plan, you can cancel your subscription and continue to use it until the end of your current billing period. Once the period ends, you can choose to re-subscribe to a lower-tier plan.
Changing your billing cycle
If you have an active subscription, switching from a monthly to a yearly billing cycle is now possible. Just follow these steps:
- Log into your paid account on the WeTransfer website
- Click on your Workspace name > Account settings > Plan and payment
- Tap Manage plan > Switch billing cycle
Please be aware that:
- You will be charged the difference between the cost of our annual plan and the remaining time on your monthly subscription.
- You will begin a new billing cycle starting from the date you process the switch.
Please note that is not possible to modify your subscription billing cycle if you are already on a yearly plan. In this case, you should unsubscribe from the current plan and wait for it to expire. Once it has expired, you are welcome to subscribe again by ensuring you select the correct billing period before completing your purchase.
