You can set the expiration date for your transfers either when uploading your files or after completing the upload, within your Transfers overview panel.
👉 To change the expiry period before you upload the file:
- Click on the ellipsis button on the bottom left of the transfer panel, or directly click on Expires in on the dedicated dropdown menu
- Select the amount of time you want your transfer to stay online.
👉 To change the expiry date after the upload is completed:
- Click on the Transfers tab at the top of your account
- Under the Sent section, open the transfer you want to change by clicking on it
- Go to the Expiration date information and tap the drop-down menu
- A calendar window will open up for you to select the amount of time you want your transfer to stay online
ℹ️ The recipient of your transfer will see the expiration date in the email they receive when you send the file. Just make sure to inform them if you manually change the expiry date afterward.
👉 🆕 If you want to set a default expiry date for your transfers:
If you're an Ultimate user, you can set a default expiry date that will apply automatically to all future transfers. Here's how:
- Click on the Expires in dropdown menu on the transfer window and select your preferred option
- Click Transfer to send — your selection is automatically saved as the new default
- If you'd like to change your default expiry date, you can select a different expiration option the next time you send a transfer
👉 🆕 If you want to enable the recovery of an expired transfer:
When you create a new transfer, the recovery option is enabled by default, allowing the transfer to be recovered after it expires. Recovery windows vary based on file size:
Files smaller than 256 MB can be recovered for up to one year after expiration.
Files larger than 256 MB can be recovered within 90 days after expiration.
