Depending on your subscription plan, the default expiry period available for your transfer will range from three days up to a year. To change the expiry duration, you can either adjust it before making the transfer or manually set the expiry date for each transfer after completing the upload.
👉 To change the default expiry period before you upload the file:
- Click on the ellipsis button on the bottom left of the transfer panel
- Go to Expires in and tap on the drop-down menu to select the amount of time you want your transfer to stay online. Please note that this selection will be saved as the default option for future transfers
👉 To change the expiry date after the upload is completed:
- Click on the Transfers tab at the top of your account
- Under the Sent section, open the transfer you want to change by clicking on it
- Go to the Expiration date information and tap the drop-down menu
- A calendar window will open up for you to select the amount of time you want your transfer to stay online
ℹ️ The recipient of your transfer will see the expiration date in the email they receive when you send the file. Just make sure to inform them if you manually change the expiry date afterward.
👉 If you can’t modify your expiry date:
If you can’t change the expiry date, it means your transfer has already reached its maximum extension. Transfers can only stay active for up to one year, and once that time is reached, it’s not possible to extend it further.
If your transfer is close to expiring, we recommend downloading the files before they’re permanently deleted. Don’t worry though — you can always create a new transfer to keep your files available for another year.
👉 🆕 If you want to enable the recovery of an expired transfer:
When you create a new transfer, the recovery option is enabled by default, allowing the transfer to be recovered after it expires. You can also choose to disable this feature if you prefer. You can check this article for more information about our new feature: Can I download a transfer that expired?
