What are file requests?
File requests help you get the files you need from anyone.
Stop hunting for files or gathering them in several different apps and channels. You can use file requests to get photos from family or professional video files for a project or documents for your business.
Make it easy for anyone to upload to you, big files or small, from any device.
- Share a file request by email with one or a few people
- Share as a link to a broad audience
- Include instructions to get the correct files
- Track status to help you manage your work
- Your custom background (available to some paid plans) will appear to show off your brand
Unlike other transfers you receive by email, link, or your custom page, you have full control of these transfers. You can extend the expiration of a transfer received by a request, like you can for any transfer you send, up to the limit on your plan. Your audience will not receive a notification when you download.
⚠️ Note: these transfers get all the benefits of your plan in terms of file size and expiration, and they count toward your total storage quota.
Here you can learn about how this helps you track and manage your files. But first…

After your audience uploads to your request, you will receive an email notification like the one below with a link to view the transfer and download files.
