Push Notifications are automated pop-up messages that we send from our WeTransfer mobile app when the app is not open. Our aim is to notify you about successful uploads/downloads, received transfers, and expiry reminders on the go! After signing in or creating an account for the first time you will see a notification that will ask you to opt-in for Push Notifications after you send your first transfer.
You might be wondering why we want you to opt-in for Push Notifications?
Well, we want everyone to send and receive transfers on the go and push notifications will make this easier for you. Think of it as fewer clicks to your email inbox, saving you those precious minutes whilst reassuring you that your action worked or reminding you about an important file that's about to expire. If you'd like to opt-in, please make sure to click Yes, notify me when you first see the pop-up messages. You will see these the first time you log in or sign up for the app and send your first transfer.
The push notifications from the app will be sent alongside our regular confirmation emails. You can read more about our confirmation emails here.
What if I no longer want push notifications enabled?
Don't worry, you can switch these notifications on and off as you please. If you change your mind you can disable the notifications through your device settings. It's all or nothing though, there isn't an option to pick and choose which push notifications you'd like enabled.
Below are steps to help you get there:
Go to the settings on your iOS device. Scroll down to your apps and click on WeTransfer and then select notifications.
Disable Allow Notifications by toggling the button to grey.
This is how it will look when your push notifications are disabled.
