TL;DR Windows XP is outdated and is no longer compatible with WeTransfer.
So you just got yourself a nice second-hand computer and it is running the best OS from 20 years ago, Windows XP. Now you want to use your favourite website WeTransfer, but things are not loading? Well, we have some sad news for you, this is no longer possible.
We’ve recently updated our login functionality in order to simplify the log-in procedure for all our products. Unfortunately for Windows XP fans (one of the best operating systems ever, am I right?), due to these recent updates to our platform, there is now a known compatibility issue with Windows XP.
Extended support for Windows XP ended on April 8, 2014. This means that it no longer receives security updates and makes it vulnerable for web browsing. We must advise that in terms of keeping your computer safe and secure online, it is wise to migrate away from using Windows XP. This is general advice for safe online browsing, not just for using WeTransfer.
It is also for this reason that we will not be supporting Windows XP going forward, so unfortunately we must advise that we will not be fixing this compatibility issue.
Although it can be hard to say goodbye to old friends, it is necessary as the security of our users is our highest priority. For additional information about the minimum browser requirements for using WeTransfer, please see this Help Center article.
