How we store your information
We store what's necessary to make using our service possible, and nothing else. We don't share your email address with third parties, ever.
It's far too often the case these days that folks' personal information is being used with malicious intent, but seriously: we only store your personal information in order to give you the smoothest experience with WeTransfer possible.
After a maximum of 12 months, your information will be automatically anonymized or pseudonymized, and it'll be as if you never visited us in the first place.
You're more than welcome to have a look at our Terms of Service and Privacy Policies, which go into much more detail regarding how we handle your personal information, and what retention procedures are in place, here.
Are you HIPAA compliant?
We're not. That might sound scary, but don't worry - we've taken it up a notch.
Since we're a Dutch company originating in Amsterdam, our privacy and security are compliant with the high level of personal data protection required by the GDPR (Algemene Verordening Persoonsgegevens), which is a European regulation that covers all European citizens. We have chosen to implement the same privacy rules globally, to offer the same level of protection and security to all, regardless of their location.
We have a global audience to cater to, and it is proven to be quite difficult to make exceptions on a country level.
Since we are not bound by US laws, we aren’t obliged to comply with HIPAA regulations. For more information on how we protect you and your stuff, check our Privacy Statement.
